Heart of America Dairy Expo Set for January

Two nationally known dairy experts headline the fifth annual Heart of America Dairy Expo, presented by Hiland Dairy Foods, January 19-21, 2017.   The Expo is hosted by the Missouri Dairy Association (MDA) and will be held at the Ramada Oasis Hotel and Convention Center in Springfield, Missouri.

“Strategies and top producer tips, from feed to finance, for helping any dairy succeed during these tough times will be addressed by Dr. Mike Hutjens, dairy nutritionist, University of Illinois and sponsored by Multimin USA and Gary Sipiorski, dairy development manager from Wisconsin and sponsored by Central Life Sciences,” says Expo Chairman and MDA President Ted Sheppard of Cabool, Missouri.

“All dairy farmers and allied industry, regardless of location, are invited to attend.  Last year we drew almost 500 attendees from 15 states.  We have the largest dairy specific trade show in the southern Midwest with nationally known speakers.

“Thanks to our many sponsors, registration is free for dairy farmers and their families with a nominal registration fee for allied industry representatives.  This year’s sponsors include Hiland Dairy Foods, Alltech, Brownfield, Central Life Sciences, Midwest Dairy Association, Multimin USA, Progressive Dairyman, BMO Harris Bank, Federal Ag Supply Artex, Missouri Pork Association, Organic Valley, Phileo Lesaffre Animal Care and Wieser Concrete.

“The Ramada Oasis Hotel and Convention Center offers room for over 65 dairy exhibits and equipment inside and is conveniently located on the north side of Springfield at Interstate 44 and Glenstone,” says Sheppard.

“The Expo kicks off with a Grand Opening of the Trade Show including a reception on Thursday evening January 19 with an Early Bird Seminar and concludes at noon on Saturday January 21,” says Dave Drennan, Expo Sales Manager.  Nine dairy organizations will have their board meetings and annual meetings during the Expo.

“We encourage travelers to enjoy all Missouri has to offer considering Branson is only 45 miles away from Springfield,” concludes Drennan.
