E. Lillian MacTaggart – Strawberry Point

E. Lillian MacTaggart, 86, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 19, 2016, at Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. She was born on December 15, 1930, the daughter of Phillip and Cecil (Marquette) Livingston, at her aunt’s farm near Wadena. Lillian attended school in Wadena and was a 1949 Wadena High School graduate. After graduation she had several jobs but her favorite was working as a telephone operator for the town of Independence.

On May 6, 1951, Lillian was united in marriage to Everett MacTaggart at the Presbyterian Church in Wadena. Together they farmed near Strawberry Point for 28 years. Six children were blessed to this union.

Lillian was a member of the United Methodist Church in Strawberry Point, Pleasant Point Grange, and was president of the Senior Citizens Association of Strawberry Point. She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to several clubs, and was an avid Scrabble player. Her faith and her family were very precious to her.

Left to cherish her memory are her five children, Teresa (Steven) Goedken of Marion, Donna (Paul) Baughman of Strawberry Point, Tim MacTaggart of Volga, Dawn (Jim) Connolly of Winthrop, and Charles MacTaggart of Manchester; 19 grandchildren, Michael Goedken, Stephanie (Shannon) Ryan, Amy (Dan) Starr, Rachel (Stephan) Howard, Joe (Kristy) Baughman, Tim Johnston, Kristina (Aaron) Austin, Matthew MacTaggart, John Carnicle, Melissa Shaw, Jim Carnicle, Traci Carnicle, Marshall MacTaggart, Jacob Goedken, Trisha Carnicle, Lori MacTaggart, Tiffany Connolly, Steven Gregory, and Dillon Connolly; 24 great-grandchildren plus one on the way; two brothers, Arthur (Lorraine) Livingston of Waterloo, and Jerry Livingston of Parkersburg; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Livingston of West Union; a brother-in-law, Harold Kinkade of Waterloo; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett MacTaggart on January 29, 2002; a daughter, Cindy MacTaggart; one sister, Mabel Kinkade; her brother, Donald Livingston; a sister-in-law, Rae Ann Livingston; and a granddaughter-in-law, Tracey Goedken.

Visitation: 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Strawberry Point, Iowa. Also one hour before the funeral at the church on Friday.
