New Speed Limit for Rural Delhi Road

A rural Delhi road is getting a new speed limit.

Pioneer Road, which leads south of Delhi, currently doesn’t have a posted speed limit. Delaware County Engineer Anthony Bardgett says drivers can technically go 55 miles per hour there right now because there is no sign to tell them otherwise.

But, the area gets a lot of traffic, especially with people parking to fish at the nearby lake. So, Bardgett would like to see something officially posted.

The new posted speed limit will be 35 miles per hour. The speed zone starts at Delhi’s south city limits and runs nearly 2,000 feet along Pioneer Road.
