HS Basketball: Tuesday Night 1-17 Preview

By Jon Swisher- Sports Director:

A mostly full schedule of high school basketball games will take place tonight in the KMCH coverage area:

The Class 3A 2nd-ranked 11-0 West Delaware Hawks will host Beckman. WD is coming off of a 2-0 weekend this past Friday and Saturday with wins at Anamosa and home against Maquoketa Valley. Both games saw slower starts for the Hawks but head coach Matt Uthoff credited both opponents for playing his team tough especially the Wildcats on Saturday night in the annual in-county rival contest:

The 8-3 Blazers have won 5 in a row after a 3-3 start that included a 54-40 loss to the Hawks in Dyersville back on December 6th. Coach Uthoff knows as the winning streak continues to grow, the story of his team trying to match the 1999-2000 WD squad in which he played on as a senior will only get more attention:

All the coverage from Seedorff Gymnasium will begin around 7:30pm live on KMCH and KMCH.com with Sports Director Jon Swisher and Bill Logan.
