Extension Offers Help on Sticking to New Year’s Resolutions

Today’s February 1st… which means we’re already one month into the new year. How are you doing with those New Year’s resolutions?

Eating healthy, exercising more and losing weight are among the most popular New Year’s resolutions. Cindy Baumgartner, a Nutrition and Wellness Specialist from Delaware County ISU Extension and Outreach, has some tips on how you can stick with those goals.

Baumgartner says there are a couple of websites that can help you stay on track. One is a USDA website called “SuperTracker” (www.supertracker.usda.gov).

ISU Extension and Outreach also has a newly-designed website called “Spend Smart. Eat Smart” (www.spendsmart.extension.iastate.edu) that can help you reach your goals.

That website has “how-to” videos, strategies for saving money in the grocery store and over 150 recipes (including meals in the slow cooker).

And if you’d like more information on how to stick with those healthy eating goals in 2017, give Cindy a call at the Extension Office at 927-4201.
