Independence Chamber Hires New Director

The Independence Chamber has hired a new director.

Christian Lutz started his duties on March 1st.

Lutz is a Davenport native and brings over a decade of non-profit management experience with organizations from several sectors, including tourism. He has also served as interim tourism director for the Fort Scott (Kansas) Area Chamber of Commerce.

Lutz will serve as the first full-time Executive Director for the Independence Chamber. Board President Tyler Rasmussen says they decided to create the full-time position versus having a part-time director and a part-time front desk person.

The Chamber will also transition to four hours of open office time, with the other hours used for Lutz to focus on communicating and adding value to the Independence Chamber members and community.
