Valued Volunteer: Shirley Helmrichs

Congratulations to our latest Valued Volunteer award winner… Shirley Helmrichs.

Helmrichs was nominated for her volunteer work with the Ryan Community Garage Sales.

The sale, which is hosted by three local churches – Peace Lutheran, St. Pat’s and Golden UCC – will be holding the sale just one time this year (in September) in an effort to increase participation and volunteers.

And the Ryan Community Garage Sale isn’t the only cause Helmrichs donates her time too. 4-H has always played a big role in her life – she’s touched a number of lives volunteering for 37 years as a club leader, 4-H Food Stand Committee Member and Poulty Project Leader – and she’s not stopping anytime soon.

Helmrichs says volunteering doesn’t just benefit others – it’s good for yourself too.

If you know someone who deserves to be nominated as a Valued Volunteer, fill out the nomination form on our website at kmch.com.  The KMCH Valued Volunteer is sponsored by Delaware County ISU Extension and The Manchester Area Chamber Of Commerce.
