The West Delaware boys track team placed second at the Decorah relays last night finishing with 110 points which was 45 points behind the host Vikings. The Hawks were led by juniors Jared Helle who won the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.71, and Harrison Goebel who won the discus with a throw of 151 feet and one inch. West Delaware also picked up runner up finishes from Kabryn Cook who was second in the 200 meter dash and the high jump, Cole Engel in the 400 meter hurdles, Kaleb Sparks in the shot put, and the 4×800 and shuttle hurdle relay teams also finished second for the Hawks. The West Delaware girls team will be in action tonight as they travel to Oelwein for their invitational. Head coach Doug Engel has been very pleased with the way the girls have progressed early on in the season:
