Western Dubuque High School Principal Resigning

The principal of Western Dubuque High School in Epworth is leaving for a superintendent job in central Iowa.

Dave Hoeger has been hired as the new superintendent of Montezuma Schools.

But it won’t be easy for Hoeger to leave “Bobcat Nation”. He first came to Western Dubuque as a math teacher in 1998 before becoming Assistant Principal in 2004 and then Principal in 2010.

And eighteen years is a long time to make some memories… Hoeger says there are many things he’s proud of as he thinks back over his time at Western Dubuque.

Western Dubuque has begun the search for a new high school principal. They hope to have a recommendation for the position at next month’s school board meeting.
