An Ed-Co graduate who served as the Fairfield Parks and Rec Director has been accused of making personal purchases with the city’s credit card.
A state report says auditors have identified nearly $28,000 in improper and unsupported disbursements by the Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department, including personal purchases made by former department director Derik Wulfekuhle.
The report released today says Wulfekuhle acknowledged using a city credit card for the purchases. He resigned his post in March 2016.
Wulfekuhle’s attorney, Paul Miller, says his client intends to pay back the money and has been cooperating with officials to resolve the matter. He says none of the money has been paid so far, pending the audit report.

Online court records don’t list any criminal charges against Wulfekuhle.
Wulfekuhle is a Petersburg native and 2004 graduate of Ed-Co High School.
