Several Charged with Stealing Colesburg Pop Can Donations

Several people have been charged with stealing pop can donations in Colesburg.

In late May, Farmers Savings Bank reported to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office that there were pop cans missing from the redemption box across the street from their bank. The box was set up in the town’s former grocery store parking lot, with funds from the donated pop cans going towards Colesburg’s fireworks celebration.

The Sheriff’s Office has charged four people with Trespass and Fifth Degree Theft – they include Matthew Palmer, Michael Palmer and Trevor Palmer, all of Colesburg; and Paul Beversdorf of Dubuque. Authorities have also charged Michaela Haley of Colesburg with Fifth Degree Theft. The charges were filed on June 13th.
