HS Softball: Regional Play Resumes Wednesday Night

The high school softball postseason got underway Monday night with Class 1A games.

Starmont advanced to 2nd round play tonight with a 5-2 win over East Buchanan, ending the Buccaneers season at 7-25. The 12-21 Stars will face Upper Iowa Conference opponent West Central in Colesburg this evening at 7pm. West Central defeated Ed-Co 4-3 to end the Vikings season at 17-14. The Stars and Blue Devils met last Tuesday night with Starmont losing 6-5 and winning 15-5, long time Starmont head coach Roger Reed knows his team will have to play a pretty clean game to get another win:

In other 1A regional contests tonight all at 7pm:

Central Elkader travels to New Albin facing Lansing Kee

Springville will be in Calamus to take on Calamus-Wheatland

Central City hosts Bellevue Marquette

Regional play gets started in Class 2A and 3A tonight, also with 7pm slated first pitches:

The KMCH Sports featured game is West Delaware Softball welcoming in Osage to Sill Field in Manchester. The Class 3A 15th-ranked Hawks are 26-14 while the Green Devils of Osage support a mark of 12-19. All the coverage live on KMCH and KMCH.com with Sports Director Jon Swisher, Jamie Vaske and Bill Logan beginning around 6:50pm.
