Francis “Pat” Woods, 81, of Ryan, died at Heritage Nursing Home on Sunday, July 2, 2017. Services: 10 a.m., Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ryan by the Rev. John Kremer. Friends may visit with the family at the church Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., and Thursday after 9 a.m. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Pat is survived by his children, Karen (Dan) Stanford, Mike (Angi) Woods, Deb (Steve Emken) Woods, Kevin (Karen) Woods and Bear (Julie) Woods; fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren; siblings, Bernice (Tom) Boffeli, Lois (Don) Venzke, Leo (Paula) Woods, Robo (Sharon) Woods, Vince (Jeanne) Woods, and sister in law Janet Woods; and many loving nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Jo; son, Patrick; sisters, Mary Moran, Sarah Otten, Helen Woods, Kathy Strothers, and brother, Jim Woods.
Francis Patrick was born on May 2, 1936 in Sioux Falls, SD, the son of Francis “Frank” and Marie Clennon Woods, and was a graduate of St. Patrick Catholic High School in Ryan. Pat was a United States veteran, proudly serving in the Army during the Korean War. Following, he married Mary Jo Burke on May 31, 1958 in Ryan. He owned and operated Woods Construction, retiring in 2002.
Pat was a proud Irishman who loved his family very much. He was an avid fan of the Cubs, Packers and Hawkeyes. Pat also was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ryan.
