Strong storms moved in overnight, bringing some heavy rains in a short amount of time.
According to the National Weather Service, the KMCH listening area generally saw anywhere from one to two inches of rain. Reported rainfall amounts varied from about an inch in the Edgewood area to one-point-three inches in the Manchester and Monticello areas. Independence saw between an inch and a half to two inches, with two inches of rain also reported in the Olin area and Marion.
There were very few reports of wind damage, though the storm did bring down tree branches across the area. Delaware County Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Ryan says there was some tree damage reported at a property north of Manchester.
More storms are likely Tuesday night, which could bring heavy rains again. Hot and humid weather will be with us through Wednesday, with isolated storms possible that day too.
