Summer usually means road work, and we’ve seen our share of it in Manchester this year.
One of Manchester’s main roads in and out of town is shut down this week for improvements. City Streets Superintendent Jason Haight says crews are working on putting in a new railroad crossing on Bailey Drive.
Traffic coming off of Highway 20 can use Brewer Drive as a detour. Semi traffic is being routed on Highway 13. Crews have also been working on the west end of town on this year’s Street Improvement Project in Manchester.
Haight says most of the big projects for the year are starting to wind down. This is Haight’s first year in the Streets Superintendent role, taking over for Larry Schmidt, who retired in December.
