In the West Delaware School District, three board members are leaving, with several new names hoping to take their spots. Ryan Peyton and Ed Poynor are running for the four-year term in the South District, which is currently Dr. John Tyrrell’s seat. Dan Hogan is running for the open term in the North District, which is currently held by Tom King. It is also a four-year term. And there are no candidates for the two-year term in the South District, which Steve Dudak is currently filling for Steve Buesing (who resigned earlier this year).
In the Maquoketa Valley School District, there are no contested races this year. The candidates are Doug Dabroski in District Two, Chris Huber in District Three and Mike Feldmann in District Four.
And in the Ed-Co School District, three At-Large positions are open this year. Six candidates are running, including Matt Elliot, Chris Funk, Rhonda Kendrick, Cliff Payne, Robert Schilling and Dan Venteicher.
Voters in the West Delaware and Ed-Co school districts will also be asked to decide on public measures. For West Delaware, Public Measure D is a Revenue Purpose Statement change. And for Ed-Co, Public Measure E is a seven million dollar bond issue.
School board elections are Tuesday, September 12th.
