Five Local Women Competing for Iowa State Dairy Princess


Several local women are competing today for the title of Iowa State Dairy Princess.

There are a total of thirteen contestants, including Brittany Putz of New Vienna, Cynthia Hamlett of Aurora, Reba Gaul of Peosta, Grace Gadient of Anamosa and Jordan Kalenske of Fairbank.

The winner will replace reigning Iowa State Dairy Princess Katelyn Goldsmith of Earlville. She has spent the past year promoting and representing the Iowa dairy industry on the state level, along with Alternate Iowa Dairy Princess Shana Hilgerson of Elkader. Their reigns will be done when the Iowa State Fair ends on August 20th.

The judging for the contest kicked off Tuesday at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines, with the crowning tonight at 8 pm.
