West Delaware & Ed-Co Hosting School Board Candidate Forums

Two local school districts will be hosting school board candidate forums next week.

West Delaware’s forum will be held Wednesday night, August 30th at 6 pm in the high school auditorium. The candidates will be asked a series of twelve questions generated by students, teachers and community members prior to the forum and each candidate will have one minute to respond to each question. The forum is open to the public.

In the West Delaware School District, three board members are leaving, with several new names hoping to take their spots. Ryan Peyton and Ed Poynor are running for the four-year term in the South District, which is currently Dr. John Tyrrell’s seat. Dan Hogan is running for the open term in the North District, which is currently held by Tom King. It is also a four-year term. And there are no candidates for the two-year term in the South District, which Steve Dudak is currently filling for Steve Buesing (who resigned earlier this year).

Ed-Co’s forum will be held Monday night, August 28th at 6 pm at the high school music room. All questions will be determined beforehand. The public is welcome to attend – and for those unable to, the forum will also be streamed live on Ed-Co’s Facebook page.

In the Ed-Co School District, three At-Large positions are open this year. Six candidates are running, including Matt Elliot, Chris Funk, Rhonda Kendrick, Cliff Payne, Robert Schilling and Dan Venteicher.

School board elections are Tuesday, September 12th.
