Week 2 of the high school football season concluded non-district play last Friday night for most teams around the state. Nine of our twelve KMCH area coverage schools earned victories.

Western Dubuque, Maquoketa Valley, Cascade, Monticello, East Buchanan and North Linn all improved to 2-0 as they prepare this week for district play, except for the Bobcats, beginning this Friday night.

West Delaware went 2-4 at the Vinton-Shellsburg invitational with wins over the host Vikings and Hampton-Dumont. The Hawks fell to Camanche, CR Jefferson, Janesville and Iowa Valley. WD is 5-8 and travel to Maquoketa tonight. The Cardinals are 0-10.
