Manchester Businessman Bob Stephen Passes Away

A longtime Manchester business owner has passed away.

Robert “Bob” Stephen of Manchester died Thursday at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. He was 80 years old.

Stephen owned and operated Bob Stephen Motors in Manchester for decades. Before getting into the auto business, he taught and coached wrestling and football at several eastern Iowa schools, along with teaching driver’s education. His hobby of buying and selling used cars led him to purchase the former Bob Nall Chevy-Olds car dealership in Manchester in 1972. He retired as Bob Stephen Motors’ owner and operator in 2014.

Services for Stephen will be held Tuesday at United Methodist Church in Manchester.
