A Manchester couple has been given permission to house livestock in the city limits.
Tracy and Luke Ogden recently requested a special exception to the City of Manchester’s Code of Ordinances restricting livestock. The Ogdens are in the process of purchasing the Satterlee property at 600 East Prospect Street on the east side of Manchester and would like the opportunity to house some animals for possible 4-H projects. The animals include up to eight head of cattle, four horses and six chickens. They would be housed in an eight-stall barn and pasture that is already on the property.
The City says there is a farm right across the street, so it wouldn’t be unusual to have livestock in that area of town.
Based on the location, as well as the number and type of livestock, the City Council granted the Ogden’s request at their meeting Monday night.
