MV Wrapping Up First Stage of High School Building Updates

Maquoketa Valley is in the final stages of its high school remodel and addition project.

The high school in Delhi was built in early 1960s and, like most aging buildings, was in need of updating.

Work started earlier this year on the four and a half million dollar project and Superintendent Doug Tuetken says the first phase is now starting to wrap up.

Maquoketa Valley’s high school building project also included redoing the lobby area and commons, as well as moving the concession stand. Next year, they’ll move onto on the second stage of the project.

Maquoketa Valley’s staff has been moving into the new offices this week, and the new weight room equipment has been arriving at the school too. Tuetken expects everything to be in place by early November.

An open house has been tentatively scheduled during parent-teacher conferences on November 7th and 9th to allow the public a chance to tour Maquoketa Valley’s newly-renovated high school areas.
