The City of Manchester held their annual Boards, Commissions and Volunteers Recognition Reception last night.
Several awards were presented, including the City Parks and Rec Department’s Volunteer of the Year Award, which went to Loretta Welcher for her work with the Hero Hustle Triathlon.
Welcher led over a hundred volunteers on the Hero Hustle Triathlon committee.
The City’s Distinguished Service Award was presented to Becky Dolan, who just wrapped up twenty years serving on the Manchester Planning and Zoning Commission. And Manchester’s First Citizen Award was given to Diane Hammell. Hammell served as co-chair of the Capital Campaign Fund for the Whitewater Park project, and has been involved with numerous other city committees over the years.
There are currently over 130 citizens, city staff members and council members who served on over thirty different boards, commissions and committees – along with over 40 people who serve as volunteer coaches with the City’s Park and Rec. Manchester Mayor Milt Kramer says they appreciate them all.
Last night marked the 25th year for the City’s Boards, Commissions and Volunteer Recognition Banquet.
