The Delaware County Pork Producers held their annual meeting last Thursday night, along with their annual “Taste of Pork” contest, at the Earlville Community Center.
Everyone was invited to bring in a pork recipe that others could sample, with those attending voting for their favorite dish. Maquoketa Valley FFA members took first and third place in the taste-testing, with Kathy Dolan placing second.
A couple awards were also presented, with the Associate of the Year gong to Mary Helle from the Delaware County Leader and the Hog Wild Award was given to Wayne Clemen. The Pork Board’s secretary, Beth Schulte, was also given a thank you plaque as she retires from the board.
