Dyersville Woman Announces Run for Iowa Senate

A Dyersville woman is running for a seat in the Iowa Legislature.

Carrie Koelker announced her candidacy on Monday. Koelker will run for the Republican nomination for Iowa Senate District 29. Democratic State Senator Tod Bowman of Maquoketa currently holds the seat.

Koelker has over two decades of experience working with communities in eastern Iowa, serving as executive director of the Eastern Iowa Tourism Association since 2000. She’s also volunteered on the board of the Dyersville Area Community Foundation, Beckman High School Booster Club, the Travel Federation of Iowa and the Iowa Destination Marketing Alliance.
