Several volunteers with the Delaware County 4-H Program were honored earlier this week.
The annual Delaware County 4-H Volunteer Recognition Banquet was held on Sunday at Wolfey’s Hoptown Bar & Grill in Hopkinton.
Delaware County Extension Director Jade Hargrafen and Delaware County Youth Coordinator Kenzie Griffin presented the 4-H Awards of the Clover certificates and pins to 4-H club leaders, project leaders, and Youth Committee members who have served five years and at five-year increments thereafter.
Five-year recipients included Jill Cahill, Jamie Carroll, Amy Putz and Jenifer Deutmeyer-McGovern. Ten-year recipients were Susan Hermann and Cindi Hutchinson. And fifteen-year recipients were Tammy Gasper, Marcia Voelker and Jennifer Zumbach.
The 4-H Alumni Award recipients were Sarah Maurer and Dan Zumbach. This award honors former 4-H members whose achievements exemplify effective citizenship, leadership, community and public service, and have success in their chosen career.
Diane Recker was the recipient of the Honorary 4-H Member Award. This award recognizes adults who have given service and leadership to 4-H through community service and success in a chosen career.
The “Meritorious Service To 4-H” award recipients were Paul Heffernen and Keith Borcherding of Fareway. This award is given to a business or individual who give their time and/or resources to support the Delaware County 4-H program.
And each county 4-H program can select outstanding members to receive the “I Dare You” award. This year’s recipients of the “I Dare You” award were Nolan Monaghan and Patrick Nachtman.
