For the first time since 2012 and the first time since the tournament was renamed, the West Delaware wrestling team the Bob Murphy Invitational. The Hawks crowned four champions and scored 250.5 points which was 31 points better than second place Davenport Assumption. Freshman Cael Meyer at 145 pounds junior Mitchel Mangold at 152, sophomore Jack Neuhaus at 170 pounds, and senior Harrison Goebel at 195 all won titles for West Delaware who won 24 of their 41 matches by fall and had 11 wrestlers finish in the top four in their weight class. The Hawks return to action this Thursday as they travel to Maquoketa to take on the Cardinals and Central DeWitt, and can be heard starting at around 6:00 on KMCH and KMCH.com. Fort Dodge was the team champion of the two day 31 team Cliff Keen Independence Invitational on Saturday. Independence senior Hunter Crawford led the way for the Mustangs finishing as a runner-up at 220 pounds, helping the Mustangs to a 16th place team finish. For complete results click HERE.
