Greeley Home Destroyed by Fire

A home in Greeley was destroyed by a fire Sunday morning.

Firefighters were called to the Dave and Marie Millis property at 210 Short Street around 8:30 am. The house was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on the scene.

Greeley Fire Chief Dave Pierschbacher says the fire started in the basement of the house. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The house was a total loss.

The Millis’ were home at the time of the fire. No one was injured.

The Edgewood Fire Department assisted at the scene. Pierschbacher says the fire rekindled shortly after midnight Monday morning, with firefighters battling the flames again until about 3:45 am.
