2017 Breakthrough Year for Sexual Harassment and Assault Victims

2017 has been a breakthrough year for victims of sexual assault and harassment nationwide.

And one local organization is hoping victims will continue to find their voice.

The Riverview Center provides violence prevention programming and survivor support for sixteen counties in northeast Iowa and northwest Illinois, including Delaware County.

Kelly Frein serves as the Center’s Sexual Assault Advocate in Manchester. She says the #metoo movement and Time Magazine’s selection of the “Silence Breakers” as their “People of the Year” have been a huge breakthrough this year.

If you are silently suffering from sexual violence or harassment, Frein encourages you to contact the Riverview Center.

And she says the Riverview Center would be proud to partner with any workplace or organization who wants to be part of the solution to change this kind of behavior.

To learn more about the Riverview Center’s free workplace trainings on sexual assault and harassment, or to get support as someone suffering from abuse and violence, contact the center in Manchester at 927-1524 or you can call the center’s 24/7 hotline at 888-557-0310.
