Four Vehicles Involved in Chain Reaction Accident in Edgewood

Four vehicles were involved in a chain reaction accident in Edgewood Wednesday morning.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office says it happened near Ed-Co High School. A car driven by Calvin Heims of Dundee was stopped on Highway 3, waiting to turn left into the school parking lot, with two other cars stopped behind him. A pickup truck driven by Kyle Weber of Epworth didn’t see the three cars stopped on Highway 3 and slid into the last car, which then forced that car into the car in front of it, with that car sliding into the first car.

Neither Heims nor Weber were injured in the crash – nor were the other two drivers, Alexander Hansel of Arlington and Tara Johnston of Strawberry Point.

Weber was cited for failing to stop in an assured clear distance.
