The top-ten ranked West Delaware Girls and Boys Bowling teams return to play with two meets to round out the week.
The Hawk girls are No. 6 in Class 1A with a 3-1 record, coming off of their first defeat of the season in DeWitt last Friday by just 6 pins. They average a score of 2,373 per match as the Panthers sport an average of 1,867 with a 1-2 mark. Hawks head coach Ken Boesenberg gives the Monticello Legacy Lanes owner and head coach Brian Meyer great credit for getting the bowling program started and they are pleased to host their first ever match with them at Lightning Lanes:
Tomorrow afternoon the Hawks travel to face 5th-rated Maquoketa at Timber Lanes. The Cardinals average 2,418 with a record of 3-5 record. Coach Boesenberg knows it is always competitive when they roll against the Cards:
On the boys side, the Hawks are the 4th-ranked team in 1A with a 3-1 record as they average 2,913. Monticello averages 2,542 and is 1-2. Maquoketa is the top-ranked squad in 1A with an 8-1 mark and averages 3,020. Boys coach Bob Morris looks for consistent improvement from his team:
The Thursday meet at home in Manchester at Lightning Lanes against Monticello will begin at 4pm while the Maquoketa meet in Jackson County will get underway at 2:30pm on Friday afternoon.
