A reliable longtime Manchester business has been named the Manchester Chamber’s Business of the Year.
Widner Drug and Gift, located in downtown Manchester, was honored with the award at last night’s Manchester Chamber Kickoff Social. Pharmacist Bob Sack just sold the business to a new local owner at the beginning of the year – and he says he couldn’t imagine a better way to go out.
Several other awards were also presented last night. Dave Klein from Simon’s Grain and Feed was named the Ernest Hayhow Chamber Person of the Year. Klein first served on the Chamber Board around seventeen years ago and is now on the board for a second time.
Manchester Fareway was honored with the Delaware County Meritorious Service award. Manager Paul Heffernan was humbled, saying there are many businesses who deserve the honor. Manchester Fareway was recognized for their willingness to step up and get involved, which Heffernen believes is important.
And an award is given to a Manchester Chamber Ambassador, who helps promote Chamber businesses and events – this year’s Ambassador of the Year award winner was Liz Rude from Community Savings Bank.
