Two Local Men Named to Iowa Pork Youth Leadership Team

Two young men from northeast Iowa have been named to the Iowa Pork Youth Leadership Team.

Buchanan County’s Spencer Cook of Winthrop and Fayette County’s Cole Spain of Castalia were selected as the two youth pork ambassadors during the Iowa Pork Congress in Des Moines Wednesday night.

They were the only two young men among the twelve contestants competing to serve on the 2018 Iowa Pork Youth Leadership Team. Jordan Travis of Altoona was crowned the new Iowa Pork Queen.

Each received a four thousand dollar scholarship from the Iowa Pork Producers Association and will represent the IPPA at various pork promotional and educational events throughout the year.
