The West Delaware Hawk Girls 3-game win streak came to an end last night falling to Solon 49-40 on senior night in Solon. Early on it was a tight back and forth contest that saw 6 lead changes and 1 tie but Solon took the lead for good in the 2nd quarter. The Hawks turned the ball over 19 times and shot just 26% from the floor. Kendra Offerman led the way with 9 points, 7 for Macey Kleitsch and Abby McGrane, 6 for Brooke O’Connell and Lauren Collier, 2 for Madalynn Burke and 1 for Bailey Beckman. The Hawks fell to 5-12 overall and 3-9 in the East side of the conference and will stay on the road two more times this week. At Epworth on Friday night taking on Western Dubuque and in North Liberty against Iowa City Liberty on Saturday evening.

West Delaware improved their record to 13-5 and 9-3 with a 51-37 victory over Solon inside Seedorff Gymnasium. Junior Derek Krogmann tallied 21 points and his history making span continued as he surpassed 1979 WD grad Casey Ditch for third on the all-time Hawks Boys scoring list with 1,080 career points. The Hawks now put themselves in a position to tie Western Dubuque for first place in the East with a victory Friday night at home.
Cascade rallied back to take down rival Monticello on the road for a 56-44 win to secure the River Valley Conference North championship and move to 19-0 overall and 15-0 in the RVC.
