HS BASKETBALL: Tuesday Night’s Schedule

The final regular season game for the West Delaware and Anamosa Girls basketball teams will take place tonight in the old Upper Gym inside West Delaware High School. The Hawks are 5-14 overall and 3-10 on the East side of the WaMaC Conference. The Lady Raiders are 16-4 and 11-2 in East division play good for first place so they have at least a share of the conference crown and with a W can win it outright. It’s the first ever WaMaC title for Anamosa in their final season in the conference, third all-time and their first since 2005. The Hawks are coming off a 55-48 loss to non-conference opponent Iowa City Liberty in North Liberty Saturday evening. The Lady Raiders clinched a share of the East with a home win against Beckman Friday night, 39-32. Anamosa won the first meeting with WD 46-34 back on January 12th.  All the live coverage can be heard tonight beginning around 7:30pm on KMCH.com with Sports Director Jon Swisher and Bill Logan.

The West Delaware Boys are off until Friday night when they travel to Marion. The Hawks are tied for the top spot in the East division of the WaMaC, with Western Dubuque, after that 49-29 victory over the Bobcats last Friday night. Both teams have one WaMaC game left, Bobcats host Maquoketa next Tuesday while the Hawks are in Anamosa.

North Linn senior guard Ryan Miller scored 20 points and became the all-time leading scorer in Lynx Boys Basketball program history Friday night in a 82-33 win over Maquoketa Valley. Miller now has 1,578 career points surpassing 1993 Lynx grad John Flanagan who held the mark with 1,570 pts. Miller, who is a four-sport athlete has 525 of those points this season. His sister Nicole, who is a junior guard at Drake University, is the North Linn Girls scoring leader with 2,207 points.
