HS GIRLS BASKETBALL: Postseason Begins Tonight

The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union’s Basketball Regional play gets underway tonight around the state with class 1A games.

Our featured game comes from Region 2 as Ed-Co will host Central Elkader in Edgewood, the winner travels to Lansing Kee next Tuesday night. The Vikings are 9-13 overall and finished 6th in the 7-team Tri-Rivers Conference West division with a 6-13 mark. Central was 10-11 and fourth of nine schools in the Upper Iowa Conference. Vikings head coach Jenny Lange talks about the positives she sees and likes in her girls right now:

The two squads met in non-conference play back on January 4th in Elkader with Ed-Co winning 39-22 but coach Lange knows a lot can change in a month:

In Region 4, Midland will host Lone Tree in Wyoming and Central City travels to Marengo to face Iowa Valley.

Class 2A and 3A teams will start up on Saturday night with 4A and 5A beginning next Wednesday night.
