February Babies at RMC Given Knitted Red Caps for Heart Month

Babies born at Regional Medical Center this month are getting a special gift.

In honor of February being Heart Month, all newborns are given a knitted red cap.

“Little Hats, Big Hearts” brings attention to congenital heart defects, the most common type of birth defect in Iowa. The condition affects one in every 110 babies born in the U.S.

RMC is one of many hospitals participating in this program throughout Iowa. “Little Hats, Big Hearts” plans to deliver over 3,000 hats in February.
