Corn Spill Causes Accident On Highway 30

A Springville woman was injured and a Manchester man was unhurt early Friday morning when a corn spill caused an accident on Highway 30, just west of Highway 13 in Linn County.  The driver of the first vehicle was 65 year old Michael Wolfe of Manchester.  Wolf was driving a semi pulling a trailer loaded with corn when the front axle of the vehicle broke. Wolf was unable to keep control of his vehicle, putting it on its side in the median, and spilling corn across a section of the eastbound lanes of Highway 30.

20 year old Nicole Crane of Springville was eastbound on Highway 30 when she lost control of her vehicle driving through the corn that was covering the section of roadway.  Crane spun out entering the south ditch striking a tree. Crane was transported by Mt. Vernon/Lisbon Ambulance to Mercy Hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.  Neither driver was cited for the incident.
