A teenager from Greeley was killed in a car accident near Edgewood late Friday night.

The crash happened northwest of town at the intersection of Littleport Road and East Mission Road around 11:15 pm.

The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office says a car driven by 20-year old Kory Doeppke of Elkader was westbound on 390th Street when he failed to obey a stop sign. His car was struck by a northbound pickup truck driven by 31-year old Sean Chopard of Edgewood.

Authorities say 16-year old Izaiah Drinkwater of Manchester was also ejected from the car. He and Doeppke were transported to Regional Medical Center in Manchester and then transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics with critical injuries.

Authorities say the car’s third passenger, 15-year old Tori Bolsinger of Edgewood, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Regional Medical Center.

Chopard was not hurt in the accident.
