Driver in Deadly Edgewood Crash Faces Charges

A driver involved in a deadly crash near Edgewood last month is now facing charges.

The Iowa State Patrol says 20-year old Kory Doeppke of Elkader was arrested Monday on two counts of vehicular homicide while driving under the influence.

Doeppke failed to stop at a stop sign while driving his car northwest of town on February 16th and collided with a pickup truck. Two passengers in Doeppke’s car, 16-year old Brady Edwards of Greeley and 16-year old Izaiah Drinkwater of Manchester, died from their injuries.

Doeppke is being held at the Clayton County Law Enforcement Center on 20-thousand dollars bond.
