Manchester Man Arrested for Going Armed with Intent

A Manchester man was arrested after an incident at a home on Tuesday.

24-year old Austin Peterson was taken into custody on a felony charge of Going Armed with Intent.

Manchester Police say a caller notified them that Peterson was on the West Marion Street Bridge preparing to jump off. A Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived on the scene first and Peterson told him he wanted to jump off the bridge because he accidentally stabbed his wife with a knife.

Police officers went to the home at 828 East Howard Street to check on his wife, who had not been stabbed. But police learned that Peterson had been involved in an argument and lunged at another man in the home with a kitchen knife before someone intervened and stopped him.

No one was injured.

Peterson has been released from the Delaware County Jail after posting bond.
