Dyersville has been awarded a large grant to help rehab a downtown building into a new brewery.
The Iowa Economic Development Authority grant worth 100-thousand dollars will be used to redevelop the sewing factory building at 146 2nd Street Northeast (in the area behind Furnitureland). Dyersville plans to turn the building into a riverfront landing brewery, tasting room and event space.
The project is estimated to cost over 600-thousand dollars.
Cascade was also awarded a 100-thousand dollar grant to restore an old bank building at 200 1st Avenue West. They plan to improve the first floor for business purposes and the second floor for two apartments. Cascade’s project is estimated to cost a little over 250-thousand dollars.
Over 50 communities in Iowa applied for these Community Catalyst Building Remediation grants, with only 18 communities receiving funding on Thursday.
