HS TRACK: Drake Relays Qualifiers for Area Coverage Schools

The 2018 Drake Relays High School list of qualifiers were released on Saturday.

Despite the poor non-Spring like weather postponing and canceling track meets across the state this Track and Field season, not even more snow and cold than usual could stop athletes from qualifying for the Relays which are slated to take place later this week.

Drake Relays officials adopted a new method of qualification called the “Blue Standard” this year. The method established a set of performances based on recent times, heights and distances that would allow student-athlete’s to qualify. Any athlete who achieved those marks earned an automatic spot this year and could rest easier if their other meets were canceled.
