HS SPORTS: Results from Monday 4-23

Maquoketa Valley hosted their annual JV/Varsity Wildcat Boys Track and Field Invitational in Delhi on the best night of the spring so far with temps in the upper 60’s last night. KMCH Sports Director Jon Swisher was there and has the details:


The West Delaware Boys Soccer team won their first match of the season last night 3-2 in shootout fashion at home hosting Anamosa. The win was also the first for the varsity squad since May 16th of last season. The Hawks improved their mark to 1-7 and will be off until Friday when they travel to DeWitt to face Central.

The West Delaware Hawks Girls Golf team hosted their annual 8-team invitational at the Pin Oak Golf Course near Manchester on Monday afternoon. Dubuque Wahlert won the meet with a 188. Ed-Co was 5th with a 232, WD 6th with a 233 and Beckman had a 246 for 7th place. Anna Jensen of Wahlert was the medalist with a 40. West Delaware was led by Allison Collier who shot a 55, 56 for Rachel Haight, Leah Wegmann fired a 57, 65 for Mia Peyton, 70 for Macie Funke and 82 for Lauren Hoefer.
