HS SPORTS: Tuesday 4-24 Results

Anamosa hosted a 21-team co-ed Track and Field meet last night at Ken Fearing Track. KMCH Sorts Director Jon Swisher was there and has the details:



The West Delaware Boys Golf team traveled up to Guttenberg yesterday afternoon to compete in Clayton Ridge’s Invite. The Hawks won the meet with a 318, followed by East Buchanan’s 355, North Fayette Valley was 3rd with a 392 and 4th was Clayton Ridge with 430.

Jacob Hesner of EB was the medalist with a 77 as he won the cardback topping WD’s Gavin Soppe who placed 2nd also shooting a 77. Other Hawks scores included; Brandon Larsen with a 79 tied for third with teammate Tyler Langel, Ryan Fangmann was 5th with an 83, 87 for Drew Wubbena who finished 8th, Elias Tibbott had a 108. The Hawk Boys return to play today with a Noon tee time at the Maquoketa Country Club for the Cardinals Boys Invite. Beckman, Cascade, Central DeWitt, Easton Valley, Marion and Vinton-Shellsburg will also be involved.


The Class 1A 15th-ranked Beckman Girls Soccer team won 3-1 over Mount Vernon in Dyersville last night on goals by Sydney Arens, Hailey Hirsch and Ashley Engelken. The JV team followed that up with 1-0 victory. The varsity improved to 6-0 as they have outscored their opponents so far 38-3 on the season, posting 4 shutout wins. They’ll be back in action next on Friday in Maquoketa.
