Despite having a strong Pro Day performance at the UNI-Dome in late March, former West Delaware and UNI defensive end Adam Reth was left not drafted and unsigned by a member of the National Football League over the weekend. Monday morning his dream of making it to the league was revived when he was invited by the New York Jets to their Rookie mini-camp. The NFL allows teams to host 3-day post draft Rookie mini-camps between May 11th through the 14th to let them evaluate the players and choose to sign them or not to their roster or practice squad.

After red-shirting his freshman season, Reth saw action in all 14 games on the defensive line in 2014. He then started in 12 games on the defensive line in 2015 and had a breakout year, recording 59 tackles on the season with 36 of the solo variety. His senior season last Fall saw him gather 79 total tackles and 35 solos with 3 sacks in 13 games played. The 2013 West Delaware High School graduate, was a three-year letter winner, all-district and all-state performer in football at WD from 2010-2012. He holds a school record in most tackles-for-loss and lettered in wrestling for three years and placed first in state in 2012. Adam is the son of Mike and Gina Reth of Manchester and graduated with a degree Technology Management.
