Authorities have released the names of the two people involved in Sunday’s shooting in Linn County.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says deputies found a man with a gunshot wound to his left foot when they arrived on the scene in the 1200 block of Bertram Street. He was taken to a loca hospital. He has been identified as 37-year old John Lord of Cedar Rapids. Lord told deputies the person who shot him was still in the home and armed with a gun.
The suspect was found hiding in a detached garage at the home and he refused to come out. After several hours of negotiating, deputies entered the garage and found the suspect dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The suspect has been identified as 41-year old Christopher Neagle of Cedar Rapids.
The incident remains under investigation.
