One Injured in Tractor/Vehicle Collision Near Epworth

One person was injured in a tractor/vehicle collision near Epworth Monday morning.

The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says it happened on Old Highway Road west of Epworth shortly after 11:30 am.

An investigation shows a vehicle driven by 19-year old Kaylie Kamp was eastbound traveling behind a farm tractor. The tractor driver, 64-year old John Kress, gave a hand signal, indicating he was intending to turn left into a driveway. Kamp mistook the signal and tried passing the tractor as it was making the left-hand turn, striking the tractor and causing it to roll over.

Kress was injured and transported to Mercy Hospital in Dubuque and then transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, where his condition is unknown.

Kamp was not hurt. She has been cited for Passing in a No Passing Zone.

The accident remains under investigation.
