HS TRACK and FIELD: State Qualifying Meets Held Thursday

High School Track and Field Co-Ed State Qualifying Meets will be held around the state beginning Thursday afternoon with field events at 4pm and running at 4:30pm.
1A-
The top place winner in each event, plus the next 14 best performances statewide from qualifying meet place winners (1st-8th place) will advance to the state meet.
In Edgewood at the Community Dreams Complex hosted by Edgewood-Colesburg. Fourteen schools and 28 teams including listening area schools besides Ed-Co:
Alburnett, Central City, Central Elkader, Clayton Ridge, Maquoketa Valley, Midland and North Linn.
In Hudson, fourteen schools and 28 teams including listening area schools:
East Buchanan, Starmont, Wapsie Valley and West Central.
Springville and Lisbon will be in Wayland.
Class 3A and 2A, the top two place winners in each event, plus the next eight  performances statewide from qualifying meet place winners will advance to the state meet.
2A-
At Dike-New Hartford: Beckman and Monticello will be two of the 12 competing schools.
At Tipton, Cascade is the lone area coverage school.
3A-
In Decorah, West Delaware and Independence will be two of 8 schools there.
Anamosa will travel to Solon for an 8-team field.
In class 4A, top two place winners in each event, plus the next twelve best performances statewide from qualifying meet place winners will advance to the state meet.
Western Dubuque is the only 4A school and they will be at Iowa City City High.
If there are ties, the highest qualifying meet place winner will be the qualifier.  There will be no more than 24 qualifiers in any event.

Qualifiers advance to the State Track and Field Meet next Thursday through Saturday at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
