The Eastern Iowa Honor Flight is making another trip to Washington D.C. today.
Nearly one hundred veterans on are today’s flight, which is the 32nd Honor Flight out of Cedar Rapids. And Dick Bell, Vice President of the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight, says each trip is special.
Among the nearly one hundred veterans on today’s flight is a father-son Army veteran duo – Bob and Carl Johnson. Bob is the only World War Two veterans on this flight, while Carl served in Vietnam.
The public is invited to welcome home Bob, Carl and all the other veterans tonight at the Eastern Iowa Airport at 9:30 pm.
And if you know of a veteran who would like to be part of an upcoming Honor Flight, we’ll tell you how to make that happen coming up in tomorrow’s KMCH Local News.
